This was about $10 a plate for breakfast, which would be fine if the portions were larger. They were very small. The waffle was about $7 with no side, and it was a heavy texture, more like something between a pancake and biscuit. The service was great and friendly, but we were not fans of the food/prices.
Awesome food , awesome service. Chicken sausage is the bomb
We always ask for the same server when we visit Joey’s, Caesar, and we always get exceptional service. The prices are very fair and the servings are large. The only downside of this quaint breakfast nook is the lack of natural lighting that makes the restaurant feel small. Otherwise, this is a great spot if you are wanting a nice home-cooked style breakfast.
The prices are excellent, the plating of the food alone is high quality. Take your parents or a brunch date and you wont be dissapointed
Great food, great service, great atmosphere. I've had the eggs cordon blue, and several other items that I can't remember the names if, and they are so good. I drive 25 miles on a Sunday morning to eat breakfast here every month or two.
This place is amazing. I had the eggs and crab cakes Benedict. It was fresh and very tasty. The price was more than reasonable. Definitely worth the drive from downtown.
Excellent atmosphere, great food. Staff was unobtrusive but prompt.
Amazing service, friendly staff, amazing environment, gotta try this place it feels like home. It's like home cooking but at a 10/10 in every aspect. The presentation of the food is perfect. My waiter was so kind and he treated everyone in the restaurant with the same kindness. This is the best place I've been to in a while.
The breakfast is amazing, and you can tell the chef really cares about the food and how things look and taste. Our favorite breakfast place hands down. The pancakes are excellent.
Good food A+ presentation of comfort food/breakfast standards. Fantastic pricing, an very friendly service!
There is good and bad here. The poached eggs seemed well made, the fruit was nice, but the rest of our order seemed to be prepackaged food presented well. I liked the coffee that presented itself as low acid, for drip coffee, but I'll find out how low acid it is in a bit I guess. The biscuit and gravy was the worst offender to being premade or prepackaged. The hollandaise sauce had split. The place itself is not the cleanest, I had to wipe lipstick off the glass of water I was given, and we had to continually wave away flying bugs during our meal, indoors.
Always good food and great atmosphere
Really great food overall. I think they need to bring on an extra server cause they were definitely overloaded, but good experience in general.PS went back a second and third time since first post by far best breakfast place in OKC for price and quality.
I love Joey’s Cafe! Their portions are reasonable and I enjoy their breakfast options.I’m also in love with their fruit plate and biscuits and gravy.
Great food, excellent service. Reasonbly priced... really enjoyed the food
The service was fantastic. We didn't try any of the food today; we just had drinks. The coffee is ok. Not fantastic but not terrible. The coffee is about on par with IHOP. The chocolate milk is ridiculously overpriced; $4.00 each for a kid sized cup of generic syrup in milk. They are more of a diner than a cafe and the prices reflect it. Not a place I would take small children. It is very quiet and even "indoor voices" seem very loud. Although, I did not receive any dirty looks or reprimands for mine. Overall, not a bad experience but not something I'd plan on repeating either
Wish I found this place sooner. Great Breakfast plates. good looking plates. Potatoes are Awesome. Service was on point. this place take a lot of pride in what they do.
Went here for breakfast. When walking in weren't sure if we were to seat ourselves or wait to be seated as there was no one to greet us nor a sign. Nevertheless, food was yummy. Reasonable prices. Service was good. Would have no issue returning.
Extremely disappointed in this place ordered egg whites and bacon with toast and was charged $14!!! While the person with me ate a gourmet breakfast for $9. I get the same breakfast at jimmys egg for $7.50. I feel robbed!! Absolutely unbelievable!! Won’t be back ever again!
Excellent menu. Great food. Can't wait for them to come to Edmond.
I'm taking away one star because they started vacuuming and such a half-hour before they closed and turned away a customer 20 minutes before they closed. But it's a great little place. Has that mom and pop feel. Fresh food. I love breakfast so the hours are great except they stop serving at 2:30 not 3:00 as it says on the door.
Wanted something different Jimmy's Egg and IHOP, so we tried Joey's. I am glad we did, as the food was great and the coffee perfect. The place was slow for a Sunday morning, which was fine by me. Prices weren't much different from the aforementioned restaurants, but I felt the quality was much better.
Over priced and trying too hard to be fancy with subpar food. My French toast was raw in the middle. The hashbrowns were burnt and not cooked all at once. Coffee tasted old, fruit isn't ripe. I didn't want a refill and told my server this, and then another server came and refilled my cup without asking or even saying a word. I will never go back.
It is a nice cafe that my family and I recently visited. The service was really good and the food was good. It wasn't our favorite breakfast spot but to be fair, we will try again.
Once again I continue to rave about this amazing place. Eventually one day I hope to try more of the menu, BUT dang that french toast is hard to pass up. Seriously amazing cost and food.
Weird and empty atmosphere in the restaurant. One waitress that works there is extremely slow. That being said, the food is very good and fresh. It’s hidden gem from the food stand point
Good food, decor a little tired, but the food makes up for it. I had "Egg Crab Louie," an eggs Benedict with crab cake, VERY good. Dear wife had blueberry pancakes with eggs and bacon, and she was pleased. This was on Columbus Day, about 9:30, which was very slow, but service was excellent, no dirty tables, very clean. Very nice staff. Food is 5-star; decor, furnishings, etc 4-star. We'll be back.
Sweetest people in the world! Really good homemade soup. Breakfast is your standard american fare but always good
Walking in I thought of walking back out. It is a weird old collection of seating. It’s clean, but looks kinda dank. The prices are typical of other places. I was still sketchy about eating there. I ordered the omelet and fresh fruit not expecting much. I have to say I was blown away. The fresh fruit was actually fresh fruit! Cut to precision. And the omelet was on point. Best breakfast I’ve had out in forever!! I will go again I hope it will be just as good.
Just happened upon this restaurant yesterday. I ordered the Chicken California Sandwich. I go to another Edmond Cafe and thought they had the best chicken sandwich until I had this one. The chicken was moist, the huge chucks of roasted red peppers sent this sandwich to another level of amazingly good, the torta bread was perfect and so so good. We can’t wait to go back to try other entrees! YUM
My family and I have been here about 6 times so far. It has a small, cozy atmosphere that I prefer over larger chain restaurants. The food is excellent. I have tried something different with each visit and it has not yet disappointed. The staff has been consistently friendly and professional. Pricing is pretty reasonable - around $48 for a family of 4 after the tip. Highly recommended.
My first visit was a total success! Selection is great, atmosphere is relaxed and prices are good....no complaints here!!
Never disappointed. A great family friendly place to eat. With great service and food.
Food was good. Not feeling the atmosphere..I guess I was looking for old country feeling. Also the waiter did not give us the exact change back only the bills... charge me what the price is but dont take it upon yourself to just keep the change...its not much but it's a matter of principle...I pay you what I owe you and you return me back what belong to me to the exact penny...again it's not the amount it the principal of business..
It’s okay. The wait staff are more about efficient serving without personality. The hostess lacks friendliness. The food is simply cooked and placed on a plate. The tables are set up to cram as many seats as possible in. Nothing stands out as great, but nothing is bad. Overall it is simply food cooked by someone else.
Really nice place to it. I like the food presentation and it's delicious.
Nice menu selection and well prepared breakfast dishes. The staff were all very pleasant.
the restaurant feels bare and empty. I would suggest redecorating to make it not feel so empty. The people were friendly and the food was awesome, so I recommend visiting Joey’s Cafe to anyone who has not tried it. It's like home cooking but at a 10/10 in every aspect. The presentation of the food is perfect. My waiter was so kind and he treated everyone in the restaurant with the same kindness. This is the best place I've been to in a while.
The food is great and because of the food I would give it 5 stars. The reason for 4 stars is because the restaurant feels bare and empty. I would suggest redecorating to make it not feel so empty. The people were friendly and the food was awesome, so I recommend visiting Joey’s Cafe to anyone who has not tried it.
The food was very lack luster, service was terrible, coffee was awful. I will not be back.
Service was good and the Food was good
We have been coming here for over 5 years, and this place is the best!!
I love Joey's! The service is awesome, and the food is amazing. They also have great prices!
Awful. I had a front row seat to the owner humiliating and berating a black homeless man—who was clean and quiet and probably just looking for a place to sit for a few minutes on a cold morning. The black man was nothing but polite and respectful. After he was told to leave, he said he would leave and began to gather his things—but this little man kept on yelling and insulting him telling him that he has no place in his “fine dining” establishment. The owner was extremely rude and loud and made sure everyone could hear him. I would never have given my money to such a hateful and little man if I had known he was the owner. Food was fine.
Tried this place out since it’s down the street from home. Took my nieces and nephews, and I promise I will never set foot in this place again. 1st we weren’t even greeted, place looked dated, and service was poor. Didn’t receive half of what I ordered and what I did order came cold. My scrambled eggs were cold and green in the middle with an awful smell, while my nieces looked fresh. I showed them the difference in color and smell and nothing was done. Cups were murky and none of them knew that I hadn’t received all of my order since they never came back and checked on us. Instead they stayed at the register on their phones and paid us no attention. I would not recommend going here. It’s not worth the money or time and you will be highly disappointed.
Excellent service, Excellent quality, Excellent Taste and all at great pricing. Do yourself a favor and check this place out. The lunch sandwiches are OUTSTANDING!
Great food and great service! We will visit again when we are in OKC!! Our family loved our experience!!
